Swag Money Story 1

Picture from here

Once upon a time, there was a gangsta named Swag Money. He killed all the fools with his banana. This banana was very deadly. Him and his best buddy, A-ARON, robbed the bank and stole lots of money. As Swag Money was getting away from the cops, he dropped his hyper lethal weapon, the banana. He got away from the cops, but had to leave his best friend/weapon. So swag money bought a private jet and flew off to Cancun with his bud A-ARON, and a lot of money. What they didn't know was the private jet was rigged with a bomb, so they had to jump out, leaving the precious money behind. They landed in California and salvaged a few thousand dollars stored in their parachutes and pockets. This meant they had enough money to buy a flight to Cancun. They almost got away with it, but the man they were buying the tickets from was Darth Vader in disguise.

Early Baseball

Picture from here

An issue that has been bothering me is the fact that baseball practice is not starting early enough for my team. It is my coach's coach and he decides when we start, but my team thinks we should start baseball practices early or do a fall baseball league. It would be better to break in the new season by having practices outside in September rather than having baseball practices in the gym when we just do a bit of tee work and base running when we could be outside doing fielding drills and hitting in the cages. Plus, we could get a jump start so after we are done with Fall Ball or fall practice we could wait 2 months and winter practices would start and we would be getting in 5 months of practices in so when our first tournament comes around we will be prepared and already be ready rather than playing our first tournaments without much practice. I know that the decision is up to my coach and with it only being our 3rd season together I can kind of understand but if we want to win our early tournaments we need to start practices early.

Continental Get Together

Picture from here

Modern day Pangea? What if it happened? Well I would be freaked and excited. Traveling would be faster and easier. I could visit Paris, Rome, Greece, a bunch of foreign countries I would have never considered visiting, but if a modern day Pangea occurred, then I would reconsider. The thing that would freak me out would be the crime and acts of terrorism and a world war. All of these things would be at large with us together. Groups from the Middle East could come to our country and be a bigger threat than before. I know that we have a strong Army and the security crossing the boarder to the USA would be great, but it is scary to think about sharing a continent with everyone. Culture my be changed if we were all together as well. a lot of USA trends might spread throughout this whole continent. It would be cool to experience other cultures as well. China's culture is very interesting and secretive, but with everyone together that would be amazing to study it. But what am I worried about? I will be dead by the time another Pangea happened.

Waino Shuts Em Down

Picture from here

On September 17, 2014, Adam Wainright, pitched his 26th shutout last night against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cardinals pulled off a two run lead with the help of Wainright's outstanding pitching. Wainright's ERA has gone up quite a bit since August, but if he keeps pitching like he has been, he can take the Cardinals to the World Series.

Big Appetite

Picture from here

My name is Jacob Raye and I am a chef for the Food Network. I have a new show and I will be making irregular, gigantic food. Tune in to my show and watch me make the biggest apple pie on earth for episode one of my show. I am prepared for the big challenge and ready to conquer the the pie. Why apple pie you might ask. Apple pie has always been one of my favorite things to make. Back in chef school, I made a pie three feet tall and named him "Piezilla." I have been making names for my food ever since. Names that are big and describe my big food. I am thinking about calling my pie, "Colossus" after I bake it to perfection. A big, sweet, crispy apple pie, who wouldn't be entertained by watching me make that! I can not wait to bake "Colossus"!

Never forgotten

Picture from here

Today is the 13th anniversary of a tragic accident that happened in United States history. Today we remember and honor the men and women that lost their lives and protected lives in this tragic event. On September 11, 4 planes were hijacked by terrorists. They committed suicide by flying their planes into the World Trade Center thriving with thousands of innocent United States Citizens. The first plane hit the top of one of the two towers and started smoking and eventually collapsed with all those people in the building and on the street. The second plane hit and brought down the second tower. That is when people started to realize that this was no accident, this was an act of terrorism. The third plane crashed into the pentagon a United States army base. The fourth plane however crashed into a grassy field. Two men on that plane took out the pilot so the plane would not hit the towers so less lives were harmed. We honor all of the people on 9/11 who lost their lives. They may be gone, but they are never forgotten.

Cardinals Pull Ahead

Picture from here

The Saint Louis Cardinals have now taken the lead in the National League Central Division which means that the Cardinals will have a great spot in the NLCS this post season. The Cardinals have really improved in their hitting with Peter Bourjous' bat getting hot piecing together some doubles as well as several RBI's in the Cardinals past 3 games. With the Cardinals winning and the Milwaukee Brewers in a slump, the Cardinals should be on top for a while. With October approaching, the wins and losses really start to add up as every team wants a shot a the World Series.

Magic House Selling

I am a real estate agent for magical homes. I am a little creeped out but I get used to it. Selling magical homes is cool because you can be able to see different types of magical houses. Humans love to buy them. There would a lot of fun in the world if you could have a magical home. I sell them for a lot since they are magical and irregular. Imagine houses that could make your breakfast, turn on the TV, fold your clothes, clean your house, and more. And I sell them!

The Science Project

Yesterday on the 21 of May, the entire seventh grade went on a field trip to West City Park. The goal of the trip was to be able to construct a floatable boat made of only natural materials. The group I was put into  made a very successful boat made out of string, an egg carton, a small plastic bag, twigs, and an old dish cloth. As a result, the boat ended up holding an amount of seven weights before the boat lost its balance and the weights fell off. We were all very proud of our hard work.  After the competition, my group had a great time playing Frisbee and kickball.

Things Things That Really Bug Me

There are definitely a few things that can really push my buttons. For example, I find it very frustrating when someone does not have the courage to tell me the truth. I also find it very obnoxious when a very important topic or document on my computer gets deleted because of  a simple mistake or even a glitch. The most frustrating thing that I know of in my opinion is disorganization of items; things like distraught clothes or jackets can really drive me crazy!!!!

Braces

Yesterday I gotten my braces tightened. This is a process in which the rubber bands are replaced with new bands in order for teeth to be more quickly straightened over a period of a month. The rubber band color can be changed to any color you ask for. In my case, I had my bands changed from black and gold to neon orange. After my braces are tightened and the bands are changed, my teeth are expected to be sore for about two days. This is mainly because the teeth are adjusting to a new position in my mouth. After about fifteen months, my braces will be taken off and my teeth will finally be straight.

Kid Nation 7

I think the first idea presented in this video is deviance. I think this because there are several people that represent this behavior throughout the town. Most of the town agrees that one person is the biggest issue for this idea. Many town members agree that the former yellow district leader, Taylor, is the biggest issue in the town when it comes to avoiding responsibilities. Although everyone agrees on this matter, many people are trying to help and be positive to help this specific person.

I believe the second idea presented in this video is social sanctions. I believe this because in the town there is several positions of authority that can reward or even punish people when laws are not followed. For instance, when someone does not follow or even breaks a law they can be punished by a position of authority depending on the law that has been broken. But on the other hand, when someone follows the laws, such as a person like DK, you can be greatly rewarded with things like a gold star that the town council rewards a person with good character and effort. If  everyone were to be kind and a good leader for their group members, then the town may be a better place for everyone, but everyone has their own opinions and beliefs that they have a right to stand by.

The final idea presented in this video is stigma. I believe this because several town members each have a trait that is undesirable to someone else. For example, some people in the town do not do the jobs that they are expected to do in order to make the town run smoothly. Most people find this undesirable because it causes serious problems for the people that have to do their jobs and take care of the responsibility that was abandoned. After a lot of effort from everyone, all of the work does eventually get done and the town does become a better place for everyone to be in.

Kid Nation 6

I believe the first idea in this video is authority. I believe this because in the town there is a council, or a group of people who lead a different group. The council members in the town make decisions that they feel is best for everyone. The council leaders also create laws and rules that are for the better result of everyone's being. As a leader in a position of authority, the council members are expected to respectfully lead group members into a better living environment.

I think the next idea presented in this video is cooperation. This is because each of the individuals in the four groups, blue, green, yellow, and red try to work together to achieve the goal of making the best and most successful group. When the time comes for a town showdown, all of the individuals competing in the event work together and communicate with their district to win the best working position. As a result, cooperation with all the groups and the group's individuals makes the town a better and kinder place to live in.

The last idea presented in this video is conformity. Within each group, the group members each try to have a good behavior towards their responsibilities and other people's actions to make a better group and overall town. Because each group member comes from a different state and a different home, each of the district members behave differently from the others. After arriving at Bonanza City, all of the districts and its members began to act differently to come together and make a better city.

Kid Nation 5

I believe the first idea presented in this video is groups. This is because each the districts, blue, yellow, green, and red are each considered a group because all of the people in their district work together to make their group better as a whole. As a group, they also share many ideas and feelings, such as the reelection decisions for each of the groups. The groups also come together to do their jobs as a team, whether its cleaning the dishes or cleaning the toilets outside the city.

The second idea presented in this video is conflict mainly because each of the council members and their group members are competing against each other for the leadership of their group. Also, many of the groups themselves are competing against each other for the positions of the responsibilities that the districts are given over the period of each showdown. In this showdown, the green and yellow districts were competing for the upper class. Although one group may beat out the other team, people from other districts congratulate the winning team an their hard work.

The final idea presented in this video is primary group. This is because all of the people in each of their own groups mainly support others decisions and try to agree with each other to avoid the conflict that regularly occurs in the town. But although there is conflict, most of the people in the town try to emotionally support others because of effort and hard work.

Kid Nation 4

The first related status in the video is ascribed status. This is because the children do not choose whether or not they are in the upper class, merchants, cooks, or laborers. For instance, the most recent showdown that the town participated in; all the classes were placed differently without their own individual choice. Also, the town did not have the option who got chosen to be a member of the council.
Although the town is based on the idea of ascribed status, there is a slight idea of achieved status as well. As shown over the course of these childrens' experience, it is obvious that all the children have their own opinions and actions. For example, some of the younger council members showed that they did not want to do their jobs or responsibilities along with their group, such as the yellow district's leader not doing the cooking responsibilities as she should as a leader.
I think that the final idea demonstrated in this video is obligations. This is because each of the city members has a responsibility to fulfill. Just as each of the districts are assigned to a job, they are also expected to do their jobs correctly for the good of the entire town. This is how most of the town felt when the yellow district continued not to fulfill their duties as cooks.

President of Uruguay

Picture from here
I believe that what President Jose Mujica did was very generous and thoughtful. He is a very selfless person to help many others that are less fortunate than him by giving several people his own fortune. Many people would not do this because they want money for themselves to have or be able to do and buy anything they desire. The less fortunate deserve much more than they have because they work very hard for their families' necessities. This man is helping with what the less fortunate deserve very much.

Kid Nation

In this video, I believe the first idea presented is power. This is because few children were chosen chosen to be the city counsel to supervise the other children. It is these people's jobs to make sure everything is in order and to control the other children's decisions and future in the next forty days.
The next characteristic presented in this video is dramaturgy. Some of the people in the video were saying that other  children were not trying hard enough to help the entire group. This is considered dramaturgy because these people had their own personal opinions about a person and specifically told another person about these certain opinions. For example, when a child hurt one of their legs, most of the children watched instead of helping.
Finally, the last social idea presented in this video is verstehen. I believe this because a member of the group was very homesick and upset and a council member tried to put herself in her shoes and tried to cheer her up. For instance, an older child said that because the girl was younger it must be harder for her to be away from home and luxury. After everyone in the group had talked to her and calmed her down, luckily she was cheerful again with the help of her friends. This shows that with teamwork and friendship, anything is possible.

Kid Nation 2

I think the first idea presented in this video is society. I think this because although there are several people living in one area there are several differences between people. For example, after the town voted for slaughtering chickens that many people disagreed because they believed that it was inhumane although the children needed protein. After the children came up with an agreement to kill two chickens for dinner, the town came together to help with the preparing of the meal for all the people.
The second idea presented in this video would be cultural relativism. I think this because the issue the town faced with deciding to eat the chickens was very difficult in the end for many children who believed that killing animals was cruel. Some of the children that saw how unhappy others were with the final decision tried to make the others happy by telling them the positive side to the decisions.

The final idea that I believe is presented in this video is values. During the difficult showdown part of the episode, there are two rewards for each of the city council member to decide what the town will use for benefits. As a conclusion, although the town didn't win any rewards for the town what would the council choose for the town, the water slide for recreation or the faucets all around the town.

Kid Nation 3

I believe the first idea presented on the video is formal sanctions. I think this because only a certain authority can present a gold star to a certain pioneer. For example, when the city council presented a gold star to a pioneer, no one else can present the honor to a person.
The second idea shown in this video is laws. When the city council decided that the city should have a specific time to sleep, some of the children disagreed, but after a discussion the town agreed that it would be good for the town and especially for the younger children.
The final idea shown in this video is morals. Most of the younger children experienced  the blue team cursing from the anger of one of their own pioneer not chosen for the gold star reward. These children and the older pioneers understand that cursing is a wrong action because of the morals that they were taught by elders. In conclusion, the morals that all of the children know make the city better as whole in order to make a good and clean city.

Easter Weekend

Picture from here

During my Easter weekend, I visited my family and I had my braces put on. On Thursday afternoon my mother took me to the orthodontist to look at my teeth and see if I was ready for the braces that I needed. The orthodontist said I was ready and that I was getting the braces on; it was about a two hour process and it was slightly painful as well. Later that weekend on Easter morning, my family and I went to my Aunt's house to visit with my family and friends. It was very nice to be able to see all my family members that I don't typically get to see often.

Things I Enjoy

There are many things that I enjoy. For example, I love video games; I really like playing Call of Duty and Minecraft. A different thing I really enjoy is animals and plants. I have always loved spending time outside with nature an beauty. I have also always had dreams of becoming a veterinarian and to be able to work and connect with animals on a different level. I also love spending time with relatives and friends and to always have quality time to talk with them.
